I have used Criso for several batches and have been happy with the results. The finished soap is hard and lathers fairly well. It is my understanding that they add Palm oil to help make it more solid in the can which I guess is why the bars come out hard. The soaps that I have made have a little bit of an odd smell so I use more fragrance in the batch to compensate. Turns out nice.

: Has anyone used Crisco cooking oil for soap. I have heard that it makes a nice hard bar because it has palm oil (or coconut) in it. Is this true. Also, how hot should I heat it before adding the lye water mix.
