I want to turn a 5 lb recipe into a 15 lb one. I'm aware that you maybe can't just multiply everything by 3, but how exactly do I find the lye amount? I tried an online lye calculator, but was suspicious of the result because the recipe includes buttermilk (in addition to h20) There was no way to include buttermilk in the formula. Does it matter, or does the fat in the milk not need to be saponified?
