I don't know how long ago you asked your question regarding pH levels. I just started making soap but have done A LOT of research. If you can find graduated (different colours to indicate the different ph Levels) Litmus paper in your area that gives the ranges for pH levels you should be able to tell approximately (within about .25 of a level) your pH level. The average range should be somewhere between 8 & about 9.5
